SWEET TREATS IN GATLINBURG

Have a craving for something sweet? A walk through downtown Gatlinburg is like taking a stroll through Candy Land. The Parkway is lined with candy stores, fudge and ice cream shops just waiting to satisfy your sweet tooth.

What makes Gatlinburg’s sweet shops especially tasty is the fact that almost all of the treats are homemade! Here are just a few of our favorite places we love to go to get our sugar fix:

Aunt Mahalia’s Candies

Aunt Mahalia’s Candies is the oldest candy store in the area. In 1939 they opened their doors to Gatlinburg. For over 70 years. visitors have enjoyed delicious fudge flavors such as their famous Fluffy Divinity. They also have various pecan-based candies, crunchy brittle, taffy and so much more. Even better is the fact that you can order these homemade goodies online to enjoy at home.

Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen

Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen was founded in 1950. You’ll find candy makers dressed in white uniforms, stirring large copper kettles while feeding taffy into the hypnotic machines. Their homemade taffy is a very popular treat and can be bought by the pound!

Maypops

If you’re sick of the same old ice cream flavors, Maypops is definitely the place to go to wake up those taste buds. Ice cream lovers will find a variety of unique homemade flavors such as Strawberry Lemonade, Apple Pie, and Banana Pudding. They make the ice cream homemade and each day you’ll find new and exciting flavors.

These are just a few of many sweet spots found along the parkway. So the next time you have a hankering for a cold scoop of ice cream or freshly made fudge, Gatlinburg has got you covered.
