At Mountain Laurel Chalets our business centers on the word Family. It is a Family owned business. We are a Family of employees and home owners. We try to treat our guests like Family.
If you have stayed with us in the past, we keep track of those records and beginning on your 6th stay with us you automatically become a part of the “Family First” program. There is no sign up process and nothing else you need to do. You become entitled to the following benefits as a way to thank you for your loyalty to us.
- You are only required to put down 1 nights rent plus the service fee as a deposit instead of ½ down.
- You receive a free bundle of firewood for each night of your stay during fireplace season.
- You are not required to pay for damage insurance or put up a security deposit.
- You get first notice of any deals or specials throughout the year.
- You receive a free gift at check in – this can be a T-shirt, Stuffed Bear or Bill cap. Sometimes we will offer other items depending on the season.
We have many guests that have stayed with us for over 30 years. Their grandparents and parents started with us and they have carried that tradition of coming to the mountains and Gatlinburg throughout several generations. We get to know those families and their stories and they have become a part of who we are. They share a small part of their lives with us and we truly love having that connection.
We hear about their job changes, marriages, births and other momentous occasions or learning of their tragedies and illnesses. Our guests care about the same things that we care about – this country, the mountains and family. While our guests are here they often stop in to share what they’ve been up to, showing us pictures of their time spent here in the mountains or pictures from home. Those grandbabies or pets sure are cute! Our staff looks forward to spending time with the people who come stay here. It is truly a wonderful thing to realize how both the guests and our employees form friendships and it makes this place special.
We get Christmas Cards and thank you notes, small mementos from where they come from. All of the reservation staff have customers that we have bonded with and they call and only want to speak to “their reservationist”. Our maintenance and housekeeping staff also begin to learn our long term guests. Family is not just a word here, but a lifestyle.
