Wanderlust

This was our fourth time staying at Wanderlust. We absolutely love staying there. The cabin is always clean and the views from the deck are amazing. We saw so many bears this time, too many to count. What a wonderful experience , We will definitely be heading back again sometime soon.

Wanderlust is beautiful home with great views on top of the mountain! However, we were not prepared for the steep, narrow drive to the top - not for the faint of heart!! The amenities were wonderful and the home is spacious and laid out well. A few issues - leaking window (addressed quickly), only 1 fryer pan, doorknob to low deck fell off a few times, spiders inside the property. AND BEARS! We get we were on a mountain in their habitat. However, not comfortable with just how many (stopped counting at 15). One found their way into our car as we were stepping out for the day. Another climbed onto the lower deck, then onto the upper deck to eat scrapes from the grill tray, lingered for a bit then back down. We would rent from Mountain Laurel Chalets again. Perhaps doing more research on location of the property.

We also appreciate your candid feedback on the few items that could use attention -- the frying pan, the doorknob, and the spiders are all things we will be passing along to our team right away to address for future guests. That kind of detail genuinely helps us continue to improve. As for the bears, you are absolutely right that you were in the heart of their habitat, and we are sorry that the frequency of visits felt uncomfortable at times! Fifteen-plus sightings including one finding its way into your car is certainly a lot to navigate, and we appreciate your understanding and good humor about it. We always encourage guests heading to our more elevated properties to be especially mindful of bear safety practices, and that is a great reminder for us to make sure that guidance is front and center for future guests at Wanderlust. We are so glad you would rent from Mountain Laurel Chalets again and we would love to help you find the perfect property for your next visit -- whether that is Wanderlust again or one of our other cabins. Mountain Laurel Chalet is special. This Wanderlust cabin is at the top of the mountain, very special. They warned us about bears and one got into our car because there were about 10 almonds left in a bag in the console!! Know that if you book us, they have many cool benefits like free tickets and pools you can use but they can't email directly through AirBnb so call and ask!! Kelly at the office is really wonderful.

We’ve been coming to Gatlinburg for 20+ years both as a couple and with large groups and we’ve never been disappointed by Mountain Laurel Chalets. They are the rare company that has delivered perfect customer service and beautiful, clean well appointed chalets over this extended period of time - even in early 2021 coming out of the pandemic, when we made a Mountain Laurel Chalet our first trip out of town as the world started opening again. We stayed at Wanderlust on our most recent visit in April 2026 and it was just perfect. The chalet was clean and had all the amenities and the view was amazing. You can’t go wrong with Mountain Laurel Chalets.

Had a beautiful view. Well laid out cabin, my wife and I love to cook. Plenty of quality utensils and pans to cook with. Also, a lot of counter space. Some of the living room furniture is a little worn, but a very comfortable and clean place to stay.

Nice place for our family fall break. Great views, clean and spacious. Would recommend. Its high up so be prepared for some steep roads. Would definitely rent again but not during the winter.

Absolutely beautiful home and surroundings at the top of the mountain! Host provided helpful information. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck watching a mama bear feed her cubs. If you’re looking for a great mountain top stay this is it.
