Smoky Mountain High

Myself, my boys, and my sister visit Gatlinburg every year and we so enjoyed Smoky Mountain High this year. The view was absolutely stunning. House was big enough that everyone had space and room to spread out. Game room was a lot of fun. Kitchen was fully stocked and made me want to recreate it in my own house. The only thing we missed out on this year was a hot tub, but no complaints from our crew!

Outstanding stay. I was a little hesitant at first because there was only one review when I booked, but I’m really glad I took the chance because this cabin exceeded expectations. The host communicated quickly and made the process easy. The layout worked very well for our group. The upstairs has two bedrooms and a shared bathroom. The main level has the master bedroom, living room, kitchen, and patio area. The lower level has a theater room, game room, bathroom, sink, refrigerator, and a bedroom with two beds, plus access to another deck. The view was beautiful, and the cabin itself was a great fit for our Gatlinburg trip. We did see a black bear during our stay and it ended up being my aunt’s and daughter’s favorite part of the trip. We kept our distance and did not feed it. Overall, this was an amazing experience, and I would absolutely stay here again. If I return to Gatlinburg, I would strongly consider booking this cabin again.

Our family of six stayed at Smokey Mountain High cabin this past week, and we enjoyed everything about our stay from start to finish. The cabin is absolutely beautiful—clean, spacious, and designed for comfort. The location was ideal for us: close to everything in Gatlinburg so we could get to attractions, food, and fun quickly, yet still tucked away enough to be peaceful with gorgeous mountain views. We had more than enough space for everyone to spread out, relax, and enjoy our time together. The cabin had everything we needed, making the entire experience easy and stress-free. Mountain Laurel Chalets was fantastic to work with—professional, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation spot for our family. Overall, it was a nice getaway. We did receive a visit from a bear while sitting out back on the deck, which was the highlight of the trip, I was ready to go home after that scare. The cabin was cozy, just right for two people. It really was a nice and enjoyable stay. Thanks.

This was the second time we have stayed in this cabin and we love it. The prices is so reasonable compared to staying in a hotel and you get the whole place to yourself. We have seen bear both times we stayed here just sitting out on the deck. It has just been a wonderful experience both time and we will be back.

We enjoyed the cabin so much! No problems! The hot tub was perfect as was the inside garden tub. Kitchen and baths were very clean. Kitchen was well stocked. The king size bed was very comfy. Enjoyed the video game and air hockey. Very cozy cabin. The ladies in the rental office were so nice and directed us right to the cabin. We enjoyed dinner at The Peddler and at Crawdaddy's both were very good. We had cinnamon rolls and coffee on the deck, so nice. We were not ready to leave! Just a suggestion, the hot tub would be even better with a drop down shade/lattice to make it more private. But overall a wonderful experience I would rent this cabin again!

We recently enjoyed our stay in this Gatlinburg chalet. Location in the mountains was wonderful. Enjoyed the drive in and out of town each time. And only 5-10 minutes. My only complaint would be that the interior of this chalet needs updating. Bathrooms, jacuzzi tub, and outdoor tub were the most noticeable. Old fixtures, a few broken knobs, etc. Felt like for the money spent on this chalet, these issues really need to be addressed. If not for the great location, etc. I would have rather had a upgraded hotel room at one of the nice hotels in town.

Relaxing is the best I could describe. With all things going on with America and family for the last couple of years the wife and I needed this. From the games inside the Chalet to kicking back in the hot tub watching a pleasant warming fire in the fireplace. Number one in my book. Very clean and cozy. I most definitely will rent again. Soon! Number one most important thing about where you stay on a vacation is good sleeping arrangements. The mattress at this cabin needs to be replaced. It is thin, hard and extremely uncomfortable. The mattress caused by my husband and I back pain and we got very little sleep because we were so uncomfortable.

The staff is super friendly and helpful. The cabin was clean and spacious. The only complaint I would have would be there are no shelves in the bathroom to help you unpack a little and the dressers are falling apart. When going somewhere for an extended stay, it’s nice to be able to get comfy and not live out of a suitcase

Smoky Mountain High is a cute, well appointed cabin the the woods located about 10-15 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg. The drive to town is pretty but on a winding road, that is difficult to navigate in the dark. We were able to spot several bears on the road including a mother with three cubs. The cabin is comfortable with a well appointed kitchen, large bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a jacuzzi, hot tub, and game room. The maintenance could be improved. The alarm system is broken, some of the dresser drawers are jammed shut, and both shower doors easily slipped off the tracks. It is a mostly comfortable place to stay that is close to the park and downtown.

Smoky Mountain High was very old and outdated . Furniture was old damp and musty. Bathroom’ s were very outdated. Interior Paint was sloppy. We had to hook up the tv in the living room to get it to work. The large tub was old and not sure if the jets even worked.

The style of the furniture in the living room is very popular in mountain cabins and the sofa and love seat at Smoky Mountain High are in great shape! The propery manager has visited the cabin and believes the smell you detected in the living room is from the fireplace, so it is being swept and cleaned. We regret the TV was not hooked up properly. Sometimes electronics are brought from home and the cables are not put back right. We are glad you were able to figure it out yourself! The cabin has an awesome cocktail game console offering 48 different arcade games and we hope you mastered that as well. Often times, the jets on the hot tubs are closed and not pushing water, but it has been checked and is working fine. If you ever encounter any maintenance issues, please allow us to provide excellent customer service by letting us know. Our staff stands ready to help you seven days a week during office hours. We look forward to you visiting the Smokies again soon.

A little older than some cabins we’ve stayed in. Was very well kept. A little disappointed in the hot tub. Jets weren’t very strong. The neighbor above seemed to make sure he came right above the hot tub when we were using it. But very quiet, easy to get in and out of in the car. Cozy!

Be sure to check that the jets are all turned on in the hot tub as they can sometimes be closed which will lessen the flow. The neighbor is local and a very nice person. Our cabin was amazing! It was clean and had beautiful scenery! We even saw a bear in our back yard! The location was perfect because it was close to Gatlinburg's activities, but far enough away that we couldn't hear the noise from the busy city. I highly recommend staying here!

The washer dance all over the floor. The dryer vent is not hooked up so all the lint comes out in the kitchen.We had no wash cloths and we had to go to the office to pick them up. The chairs dont sit on the floor because the floor is unlevel. The hot tub was nice. We did see a momma bear and three cubs in the back of the chalet. The drive way is narrow and you have a hard time turning around. The front porch light don work right.

We had an issue with the gas grill not functioning properly. I notified the office about it. I told them I didn't expect maintenance to be able to fix it for our weekend stay and was just informing them so they could take care of for the next guest.
We left for the day to do some sightseeing. Upon returning to the cabin, I noticed a new gas grill in place of the broken one. I was not expecting that and was pleased that they went out of their way to make sure it was taken care of. This is how you keep customers. We will definitely use Mountain Laurel again for our lodging needs.

Pros: Ski Mountain Pizza delivers to the cabin (great food)
Arcade game and game room were great
Cozy Corbin with with pretty much everything you need kitchen wise
Front porch was nice
Drive up to cabin is easy not a super steep driveway
Ravens visit the tree out front almost every morning
Saw a bear on our last day, he was right next to the car while we were loading it!

Cons: No privacy! There is another cabin behind this cabin and the decks are pretty much facing each other. Also there is a cabin that is above this one and their trash cans and driveway are right next to the hot tub, front porch was nice though we spent a lot of time there.
The bed was horrible-But due to covid maybe they can’t use mattress toppers,but it is super firm and super uncomfortable. This was honestly the worst part of our vacation, we did not get restful sleep til we got home.

We didn’t use the jacuzzi tub inside so I can’t review that, hot tub was nice though and much needed after sleeping in that bed.

All in all stay was good, we will not stay at this particular cabin again, we like a bit more privacy. However it was cozy and the game room and ms. Pac-Man helped make up for the horrible bed. We like staying with Mountain Laurel, always friendly and cabins are always in good shape.

If you don’t mind neighbors and they replace the bed this would be a perfect stay.

I can't say enough about how much we loved this cabin! The pictures on the site just don't do it justice. The cabin was spotless and had everything that you would need. The decor was charming and amenities were great! The games were a huge hit and had us entertained for hours. They owners had thought of everything. The location is perfect. Close to Gatlinburg, but you feel far away. We saw bears lumbering through the woods everyday. We utilized the back deck and grilled every night (such a nice amenity). Pam and Cheryl at Mtn Laurel Chalets made booking for this trip worry free. All COVID-19 precautions were taken and I truly appreciate the effort to ensure the safety of all. The only caution I have it that the driveway is very tight if you drive a large vehicle. I would recommend this cabin to any couple looking to escape for a few days.

We loved our stay here and excited to see a couple of bears. We will be back. A couple of things that could improve is better tools for grilling would be nice. Also the shower in the 2nd bath didn’t work right and needs to be deep cleaned. But overall we loved it and can’t wait to come back

We loved our stay here and excited to see a couple of bears. We will be back. A couple of things that could improve is better tools for grilling would be nice. Also the shower in the 2nd bath didn’t work right and needs to be deep cleaned. But overall we loved it and can’t wait to come back

Our stay at Smoky Mountain High was everything we hoped it would be and more. It was in a great location, maybe 5 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, but still in a wooded, semi-private area. There were a couple cabins nearby but still plenty of privacy. One bedroom cabin with 2 bathrooms, which was convenient. The kitchen had just about any appliance needed. Hot tub was excellent. Staff very friendly and quick to respond. I would stay here again. Thank you!!

Mountain Laurel Chalets staff

We have stayed at this cabin before so we knew that we already liked it! It doesn’t take long to get to get back to red light 10 and to the cabin.
We love that the hot tub is connected to the cabin, and that it has games!
We got to have our first bear experience this time and it was breathtaking!
The only thing that we forgot and had issue with last time, was trash bags.

Overall very good experience and enjoyed our stay. Just a few minor maintenance issues; clogged toilet upon arrival, unable to set alarm, broken hairdryer and raised nail in floor of bathroom doorway.

This was part of a road trip. We would definitely stay here again. Plenty of space and especially liked having two bathrooms. You need to unload your car quickly as a bear got in our car.

As always Mountain Laurel Chalets delivers. The cabin was in a quite area and just what we wanted in a rental. Staff was great with check in and check out. Very professional. We have used this rental company for many many years and have always been pleased. This was out first stay at Smoky mountain High and we plan on renting this cabin again. It was a perfect get away.

We'd stay here again and again. Everything was clean and made the stay great. Air hockey was our biggest hit. I would say if you do a lot of cooking to perhaps bring your own chef knives but what was in the butcher block was enough for what we did this time.

We enjoyed our stay at Smoky Mountain High. The cabin was clean and everything was in working order. We loved the fireplace and the cozy atmosphere. The king size bed was very comfortable. The jacuzzi is quite large and looks great; however, we did not use it. This cabin has two full bathrooms which came in handy. Nice pool table. We love Mountain Laurel Chalets and we know we’ll return again and again.

We stayed in the Smoky mountain high cabin. The cabin has a very warm feeling from the moment you walk in the door. It's minutes away from all the attractions, has a very peaceful environment. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They made our vacation perfect!

Such a great experience. The staff was wonderful and friendly. The cabin was beautiful and comfortable. I would suggest some lattice or something around the hot tub for additional privacy. But otherwise, we will definitely be returning!!

Awesome time in this Rental. My wife and I went for an extended weekend of hiking in the GSM. This was the perfect place to come back to and relax and recharge for the next day hike!

Perfect vacation. I highly recommend Smokey mtn High. Everything that we read about this cabin was exactly what we got. We didn't see any bears. I would have liked too. Plenty of bear figurines in the house. This will be our go to cabin at Christmas. The best part we woke up on Christmas morning to snow.

Our stay was perfect as always. The house was better than expected. It has everything you need in a home away from home. Will definitely stay in this cabin again. The staff at Mountain Laurel were very helpful and extremely nice as usual. Will only stay with Mountain Laurel because of the service and staff.

Been staying in Gatlinburg for over 20 years, this cabin could be better,it was way to dark and had no blinds also the thermostat would not go above or below 72 so it was very uncomfortable on 84 degree days. Water pressure was great. This cabin just needs some TLC and it would be perfect. We did love watching the Chipmunks run and play and playing the arcade games.

Our stay at Mountain Laurel Chalets was an experience I'll never forget! This was our first time for staying at a cabin rental. The property looked exactly like the picture displayed on the misconceptions! The chalet was neat and clean, the property was maintained. The manager was very courteous and friendly. My Gatlinburg Vacation was amazing. Every year I experience something different. I have been to Gatlinburg an SMOKY Mtns. Camping since I was a boy for 60 yrs. The folks at Mountain Laurel Chalets, David, Cheryl,Pam always have the perfect chalet for me an my guest or by myself. My Cabin this time SMOKY MOUNTAIN HIGH,very clean,beautiful.Bears were Guest an I had a great experience in seeing different attractions like Bush Bean factory, Forbidden Cavern, we even caught Trout at Trout Farm by the cavern an grilled them... Wow what a Mountain Therapy Vacation again. GATLINBURG IS always a place of home away from home. THANKS AGAIN. Jim

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was clean and in good condition. The shower doors were hard to slide open and there needs to be some attention paid to the plumbing. The toilet in the master bath fills too full with water before flushing and the shower in the other bathroom shoots water out of the button you push to turn the shower head on. We really enjoyed the hot tub and liked the location of the cabin. Thanks!

The staff was very friendly and gifted us with glasses to view the solar eclipse. The staff was also very informative about bear activity and how we could stay safe. The cabin was fully stocked with all that we needed to have home cooked meals and entertainment. We planned to rest and relax more than anything during this trip, and this cabin helped to support that. It was peaceful and comfortable. We sat in front of the cabin with our gifted glasses and relaxed while watching the solar eclipse. We look forward to coming back!

This house was perfect for us! Saw a momma bear and two cubs as soon as we stepped out of our car. The cabin was clean and well maintained. Cheryl at the office was a HUGE help, answered all of my questions and recommended some fantastic places, including an amazing fishing trip!!

This was our third stay with Mountain Laurel Chalets and there will be more. Cabins are clean and well maintained. While there was evidence of the recent fire, it did not interfere with travel nor our activities.
