Picadilly Point

Beautiful place & surroundings. It was very comfortable for our group of 14. The kitchen was well stocked. We cooked a lot of our own meals & spent most evenings enjoying the hot tub & fire pit. I highly recommend the place.

Upon arrival there were SO many dead bugs. On EVERY surface, including beds. Did not look like anyone had been by to clean in weeks. The basement smelled like dead mice and closets contained mouse droppings. When we turned on the kitchen sink it filled with dead ants. Our view was obstructed by construction work next door which wasn’t disclosed (they were also very loud). I paid over 1500$ for 2 nights and the first night was spent sweeping all the dead bugs and disinfecting. I had to fight for a better refund after they only refunded 109$. Beautiful space, just did a bad job cleaning the place before having guests. If the place had been cleaned properly & construction disclosed I would’ve given 5 stars.

This Cabin was beautiful and the views were amazing! We had our bridal party trip here and we all loved it! However, it was a weekend trip and the WiFi did not work the entire weekend, the host could not fix it until the Monday after we left, which was disappointing because we had planned some online activities for the group and in the amenities WiFi is listed. The A/C on the main floor and basement was poor even with the windows covered, this made it pretty uncomfortable to be in the living room and common areas but thankfully it was only March, I could not imagine the summer. However the A/C on the top floor was great! Lastly, we expected bugs and boy they were there, there were stink bugs and lady bugs dead and alive ALL OVER, even landing on us. We were not too bothered as none of us are too scared of bugs but be warned if you don’t like them! Aside from that, the weekend was good and the Cabin was mostly clean!

We do sincerely apologize for the WiFi issue and we completely understand your frustration -- having an amenity listed and not being able to use it for the entire duration of your stay is not acceptable and we are truly sorry that it impacted the activities you had planned for the group. That is something we are taking seriously and will be addressing to make sure it does not happen again for future guests. We also appreciate you flagging the air conditioning on the main floor and basement -- you make a very valid point and that is something we will absolutely be looking into and improving. Every guest deserves to feel comfortable in all areas of the cabin and we are glad the top floor at least provided some relief during your stay. As for the stink bugs and lady bugs -- early spring in the Smokies does have a way of bringing them out in full force! While it is one of those things that comes with the beauty of the season, we understand it is not the most pleasant experience and we will make sure extra attention is given to keeping those areas as clear as possible for future guests. We always strive to provide a five star experience for every guest and we would love the opportunity to earn that extra star on a future visit! Great host! Beautiful cabin. When we arrived the grill was broken and it was rapidly replaced - very thankful for that! The hosts were great communicators from booking to checkout. We did have many, many stinkbugs trying to crash our vacation, but to be expected this time of year (early spring) The cabin slept 11 adults very comfortably. Would book with them again

I will say the house itself is nice and the beds were comfortable. However beware of a few things before booking. 1. There is a house being built next door that they did not tell us at booking or communicate at all. So while drinking my morning coffee with beautiful scenery I had to listen to the banging of the construction next door. I reached out to the owner and they did nothing to compensate for the noise or for not communicating this to us. So dont expect it to be quiet. 2. Stink bug central. I expected some bugs... we are in nature. BUT there are hundreds of stink bugs inside. Also we had ants in the kitchen. I reached out to let them know they said maintenance would be by but nobody ever showed. 3. The dining room chairs were broken & the shades to keep the sun out of the main room which gets very hot during the day. Id hate to be here in summer. Also the arcade game downstairs does not work. Buyer Beware....

At the time of your visit, we were not aware that construction would be happening next door during your dates, and we completely understand how disruptive that noise can be—especially when you’re hoping for a quiet mountain getaway. Once we understood the extent of the impact, we issued compensation as a refund to acknowledge the inconvenience and the lack of advance communication about the construction activity. Regarding the bugs, ants, and items needing repair: mountain cabins can experience seasonal pest activity, but it’s our responsibility to respond promptly and keep things under control. We’re sorry that our maintenance follow-up fell short here and that you encountered issues with stink bugs, ants in the kitchen, some dining chairs, the window shades, and the arcade game. Our team has since addressed these concerns so future guests at Picadilly Point have a smoother experience. We appreciate you recognizing the comfort of the house itself, and we’re grateful you took the time to share this detailed feedback. We hope you might consider giving Mountain Laurel Chalets another opportunity in the future so we can provide the relaxed, quiet stay you originally had in mind.

Our stay at the cabin was absolutely lovely. From the moment we arrived, everything felt cozy, peaceful, and perfectly clean. The cabin is beautiful and well cared for, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind.
