Everything was great. House is outstanding and well equipped. Bears were plentiful and for the most part entertaining until 4 showed up on our deck the last night at the same time but we managed.

It is always a thrill to see the bears and they seem to be everything this summer! That's why we always remind our guests to lock their car doors so they can't get inside.

I chose this beautiful setting for our 14-member sales team’s Fall regional meeting. It was a great choice! The Lodge is very spacious and well furnished. The huge kitchen had everything we needed! We used the theater room for our Webinars where the on-line presenters were displayed on the extra large screen. When we would return from evening activities we spent hours in conversation on the decks. We were fortunate to see a mother black bear and her three cubs frolicking in the nearby woods! The sales team said they want to return for our next meeting.

Leah--thanks so much for your review. You just about covered everything great about Laurel Lodge and how it is perfect for retreats and business events like yours. The theater room with Smart TV makes for a great place for learning and entertaining. Glad you enjoyed the luxurious new kitchen for your meals. Isn't the deck perfect for gathering and relaxing? The rental space was very sufficient for the amount of people that came on the trip. They was plenty of dishes and utensils in the kitchen even though we used plastic products. The mountain view was really nice to wake up every morning on the back deck.

Holy cow - we thought Laurel Lodge was awesome the last time we stayed there in summer 2017. Boy were we pleasantly surprised when we walked in the doors this year. The kitchen upgrades are fantastic. We brought lots of extra things this year but did not need them (griddles and salad spinner to name two!) because the kitchen is fully stocked. And I mean fully. The only thing it lacked was a second sink. There are two of every other appliance (and double roll-out garbage bins - the owners thought of everything), but we really would have appreciated a second sink in the kitchen. But that is the only thing we can find to suggest for this amazing retreat. Beds were comfy, bathrooms well appointed, improved decking a huge hit! Perhaps a few more chairs on the deck would be great if I'm creating a wish list . . . Our large group was very comfortable in this house. The house was "clean" in that it had been picked up and the linens changed. I would like to have seen a bit of a deeper clean between guests though, as there were still food items in the lower level fridge, and a pair of flip flops under one of the beds. The windows were also rather grimy . . . But I want to end on a positive note - we will be returning to Laurel Lodge for as many family reunions as our family will fit (we also rented the neighboring cabin Camelot for overflow - it was so nice to have the two connected by a path!). Thank you owners and property managers for such a great stay!

Spent 3 days with 12 couples at Laurel Lodge. This is our second time at this location and the improvements that were made to the cabin made this visit A++. The new theater room was great (it would be nice if it had surround sound). The extended deck was a great hangout space for our large group. The accommodations didn't disappoint. All the couples really enjoyed their stay. Also had a bear to show up two days in a row, once in the parking lot and on the deck. We will definitely be back. The only complaint I have is the ice maker in the kitchen froze up and didn't produce any ice.

We are a group of friends from the Charleston,SC, area (23 this year) who have enjoyed a fall vacation together in the mountains for the past 20+ years. This year we chose Gatlinburg, TN, and were very happy with our accommodations at Laurel Lodge. For many years we rented the Saluda Inn in Saluda, NC (hence our name). We decided 2 years ago to explore other areas of the mountains. Gatlinburg's many attractions will encourage us to return. Being from the "low country", the single lane road up to Laurel Lodge was challenging, but worth the effort! We enjoyed several visits from a friendly bear.

Thank for the review Saluda Gang! We hoe you have found your new home at Laurel Lodge in the Great Smoky Mountains. There are parts of the road to the cabin that seem narrow, but two cars can pass in all but 1 or 2 spots (curves mostly). Fortunately, there is very little traffic on that road and you can see cars coming before you reach the curves. Seeing a bear is always a thrill, but please enjoy them from a distance. We look forward to welcoming you back to Gatlinburg soon.

We had 24 people total and used every bit if the space and it worked out great. From the gathering space to the media room, new deck and spacious kitchen and eating area; it couldn't of been better. Each bedroom having it's own bathroom was a big plus!!! The check in process and people helping with that were very helpful and accommodating also. Good location; just far enough out of town but a real short drive to all there is to do.

We love Laurel Lodge. We have been coming to Sevier County for the past 25 years for an adult family weekend getaway. Sometimes as with most families as we get older we move to other areas and get caught up in our own family routines. Laurel Lodge gives us an opportunity to come together as people, not moms or dads and enjoy each other. The lodge offers enough open space that we can enjoy each other and play games, eat as a group and sit and enjoy the fire and view. Plus the bedrooms are large enough that you if want some alone time, you have a place you can feel comfortable. Most of all we love the kitchen, with a lodge of 12 bedrooms you need to feed a lot of people and this lodge has planned for that; an ice maker, 8 stove top eyes, 2 ovens, 2 microwaves, a large refrigerator and separate large freezer it has it all. Can't wait to come back.

Getting together is the best when you have plenty of space to do be together, but also have your own thing when you need to. You are correct about the kitchen! With that many people, two of everything is best, including 2 dishwashers because that's a lot of plates to wash! We look forward to welcoming your family back because you are OUR family!

We had a wonderful time on our yearly "In Memory of Josh Lawhorn" trip. We loved the fact the lodge held noise well. Two fridges and freezer made planning for food perfect. Gas grill is so nice. Parking for 10 cars can be hard, but you work with what the hill provides. Will hopefully use this cabin again next year, unless our group grows.

Thanks for the review and we are proud to host your memorial get together. "Held noise well" tells me you had a rocking good time! With a full house and rooms to be together, or bedrooms to be apart, how can it not be a guaranteed success! If your group grows, here an idea. We have a three bedroom called "Camelot" just a through steps through the woods, so room to grow! We hope to see you in the mountains again soon.

We have stayed in the Chalet Village for the last thirty years for bi-annual family reunions. Our group gathers from across North America. Our "usual" chalet was lost in the fire, so this was our first time at Laurel Lodge. We will be staying here for the foreseeable future. The property was a perfect size and had all the amenities. We loved having double appliances in the kitchen, as well as an extra freezer. Having a bathroom in every room was new to us, as were the two half baths. Some family members were disappointed in the view, so if that's important to you, this may not be the perfect spot for you. We have nothing but praise for the lodge itself and the property management company.

We are so glad that you found Laurel Lodge to be a great spot for your Family gathering. We try very hard to provide something for everyone. If you have a large group and a fantastic view is important to you, this homeowner also offers another large chalet called " Smoky Mountain Memories.

We rented Laurel Lodge, and the one next door (Camelot) for a retreat and can we say it was perfect. The accommodations were so nicely decorated, comfortable and exceeded our expectations. The staff at the office were friendly and treated us like family. It was so close to downtown and the area wasn't effected by the wild fires at all. There were some areas we could drive by where we saw damage but most of that was out of the way from where Laurel Lodge was. Plenty of parking and the beds were awesome. We are already planning for next year. Hiking as a group in the park was a highlight as well as worshiping together in the large lodge area of this cabin.

The property was surprisingly nice. My family had stayed in the very same unit 15 yrs ago so I was thinking it would be extremely old and outdated however the owners have done an excellent job updating the property. We enjoyed the chalet and it's amenities. Each room having their separate bath was awesome. The only thing I'd recommend them to change well correct is the driveway. The gravel has washed away terribly and there are 2 bad ditches in middle of drive. Making it difficult and unsafe to manevour in and out of the drive. This SHOULD BE FIXED IMMEDIATELY! We had 1 vehicle to become stuck with only 2 tires on the ground. The other 2 just spinning in air from washed away gravel. It was a scary situation but we prevailed. But it should be filled in or paved immediately as it is only going to get worse as the weather gets cold or raining...

The week-end was a good experience. The response from the staff was unbelievable - quick, pleasant and efficient. We have stayed each year from the past 20+. Suggestion - make sure there are enough mugs etc to serve 24. The breaker was not strong enough for stoves, griddles etc. Place mats were missing.

Our church reserved this cabin for our Annual Marriage Retreat. There were 11 couples that attended. We had plenty of room and supplies for everyone. The cabin was lovely and just perfect for us. We will definitely consider this cabin again next year.

The house was the perfect spot for a big family reunion. It's proximity to both the national park and the town of Gatlinburg made it worth every penny. We did have a bear visit during dinner while we were grilling and be careful of the road leading up to the house- super steep and not for the faint of heart. The view was fantastic and the staff was extremely helpful with everything we needed. The pictures really don't show how large the house really is! The group was sad that recycling wasn't an option. Overall- great stay- highly recommended!

This was the perfect place for my extended family of 22 people. We were all very comfortable since there were plenty of beds, showers and seating. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, bowls, silverware, pots, pans, etc. We loved the separate ice machine! This was a beautiful location and we had no problems finding the pools which the kids loved. If you need a place to stay for a lot of people, I highly recommend Laurel Lodge.

We are so glad that you all enjoyed your stay at Laurel Lodge with your family. It is a great chalet to have family reunions. Thank you for staying with us and we look forward to next time.

I looked all over the Smokey Mountain area for a place with 12 individual rooms. You will do no better than the Mountain Laurel Chalet. Close to downtown G-burg, tastefully decorated, everything you'll need for a large gathering.

Housing a large group is one of the reasons that we love Laurel Lodge also. We are so glad that you all enjoyed your stay and noticed the decorating. We look forward to seeing you all at your next stay.

We had a good time on our trip to Gatlinburg and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Laurel Lodge. Property is well kept and clean. The office staff and maintenance men were very friendly and helpful. The lodges were closer together than we expected, but privacy and noise did not become an issue. Our only complaint with this rental is we chose this particular unit because it was supposed to be handicap accessible. The shower did not have a safety rail inside the stall or a hand held shower head. If these two items were taken care of we would definitely rent this lodge again.

We loved the layout and location of Laurel Lodge. We appreciated being able to get additional linens and towels in the office if needed. The lodge had everything we needed and kitchen was well- stocked with everything needed for a Thanksgiving feast except lids did not match pots. Rooms and barhs were clean but under kitchen sink was rather scary and not clean. Bathrooms were clean and hot tub nice. Incredible view and decks and we really enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch. The negatives were that you were closed on Thanksgiving Day. Since we arrived just the afternoon before we didn't realize we needed a couple more towels. Also no remote for TV in game room on BIG football day. We finally found another from another room to work. Maybe you could just open for an hour letting everyone know as they check in. The free bundle of wood was nice as was having additional available. The largest negative were the mattresses were generally uncomfortable and the one on first room on right on top floor had a huge hump in the middle. Overall, Laurel Lodge gave us a memorable and enjoyable family vacation. Will look forward to a future stay there!

Our group has been staying in Laurel Lodge every November since it was built. We stayed in Smoky's Paradise before that and this group has been renting from Mountain Laurel Chalets annually since 1984. We love this chalet with a bathroom in every bedroom and are very pleased with the accommodations. However, we do have some feedback. There were not enough plates for the 21 of us to eat on, several of the glasses are chipped/broken and need to be removed/replaced, there was not a tub stopper in Evening Shadow bathroom downstairs(and I'm a bath person), we love the icemaker but it can't keep up with our needs. Also, a couple of the TV's did not work so replacement cables were required, which were installed in a timely manner. We understand this is out of your hands due to an ordinance but we would love to have the grills back on the deck. These are minor but we wanted you to know. Love this place and will be back again next year!

We rented this particular cabin because we were having a division meeting with 16 people. Since this had 12 BR's each with it's own bath (which was important) we only needed a 4 BR cabin to top it off. It worked perfectly for our meeting and was clean, nicely decorated and well equipped. The under counter ice maker was an extra special touch with that many people. Just far enough up the mountain to be in the woods (along with a resident bear), but close enough to town to run in for supplies.

We come every year with a group of 12 - 14 women and thoroughly enjoy all the lodge has to offer! We love the private rooms with attached baths, hot tub, spacious kitchen with two stoves AND dishwashers, outdoor porches with rocking chairs, wonderful gathering places on both floors and the convenient location to both the town of Gatlinburg and the park for hiking.

We had 12 couples plus for the weekend. The rooms are perfect and the chalet had all the kitchen gadgets you could hope for. The large capacity ice maker did not seem to be working although it had ice in it when we arrived. Fortunately we had brough bagged ice and there is a separate freezer that was able to accomodate the ice. Everything worked out perfect and we woke up Saturday morning to snow that was gone by lunch time but was beautiful.

I thoroughly enjoyed taking my church youth group to this cabin. Everything was clean and the lodge itself is beautiful. My only concern is the location was very difficult to get to with our large vehicles, and could have been problematic if there had been snow or icy weather.

This was a great space for our family of 22. Common areas were large and kitchen had plenty of plates and glasses. There was a little issue with it not being ready by 3 p.m. but housekeeping really stepped up and we were fully in by 4 pm. The only bad thing about the rental was the poor condition of the mattresses. When either my spouse or I moved, the whole bed moved. Also, you should remember to bring Kleenex and salt and pepper. Those things were not on the recommended items to bring list sent by the rental company.

During our family reunion, this property met the needs of all of our 26 members. This residence made it possible for all to meet and dine together, yet break away for leisure or entertainment. The bedrooms provided privacy and the bathrooms were a much added asset during our stay. The concern for a grill to feed everyone was found to be adequate as we used the 3 charcoal grills provided and found useful. We would definitely recommend this vacation facility to anyone wishing to entertain a big group under a single roof. We look forward to using this unit on the future.
