Gatlinburg Manor

Our friend group has spent time every fall for the past 22 years in a MLC chalet. The past 4 years we stayed in Gatlinburg Manor. One of the favorite things we do each year is a Friendsgiving dinner. We have the full Thanksgiving meal which is always delicious. Before praying and eating we go around the table and share what we are most thankful for over the past year. This time is filled with a lot of reminiscence of our lives as long time friends and things we’ve seen each other through - for example in 2022 I shared how thankful I was for my husband and friends supporting me through the loss of my mother. We, as do our friends, travel quite a bit to many places around the world, yet we all look most forward to this time together in a MLC chalet where we spend valuable friends time together.

The property is very nice and homey. Our girls trip was very enjoyable. The large kitchen table was what we needed for game night. Some of us enjoyed the hot tub on the lower level. The stairs were a problem for some of our women so they could not use the hot tub.

We had a wonderful time! Our sons/daughters-in-law and grandkids had plenty of room to spread out and quiet time when they needed it. They particularly enjoyed the huge kitchen and the hot tub! The deck has an amazing view and felt very safe having the little ones on it. We had a bear investigate our grill when we were fixing dinner one day but he left soon after and didn't return (as far as we know). Mountain roads to home take some getting used to but most mountain homes are like that.

There was plenty of room for the 8 of us. We saw bears at our rental and in the area 3 times during our 3 day stay. We enjoyed the large hot tub. The kichen table could use more lighting for game night. Lower Deck furniture needs to be wiped down. We are renting it next year.

We really enjoyed Above Laurelwood! The hot tub was great! The pool table, even though its condition resembled that of many well-used pool tables in the Gatlinburg area, was a nice addition. Many great nights relaxing with great company were had.

Above Laurelwood is a fantastic place for a getaway with loved ones. The amenities, such as the hot tub and pool table allow for a relaxing time together in the chalet, and it is not far from many of the attractions in Gatlinburg as well. The house was absolutely perfect for our family Christmas gathering. The home owner decorated for the season to include putting up a tree. There was tons of space!! The fireplace and hot tub were a must for us and can I just say it was not a disappointment. There was firewood prepped and ready for us and the hot tub was so nice. This was our group of friends’ 21st annual trip to Gatlinburg. We stayed in Gatlinburg Manor last year and liked it so much that we booked it again. We really like the space and layout of this home. We can all be together if we want or spend time downstairs or on either of the 2 large decks. The location is perfect - about midway between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge so it’s convenient for wherever we wan t to go.

The kitchen is well equipped for our meal preparations (soups, Friendsgiving dinner, breakfast 3 mornings), bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and the home is clean.

As always we appreciate renting through Mountain Laurel Chalets - they are always friendly and helpful. We have been doing business with them for 36 years and have never been disappointed!

One bonus to our stay this year was when mama bear and her 2 cubs came to visit. We first saw them on top of the garbage can cage then watched from our decks while they hung around our house for a while!

Our 3rd annual family vacation was at Gatlinburg Manor.
This house in the mountains is awesome! The accommodations where spotless, welcoming and home like. We all had a great time and experience. The views from the 2 decks were even better in person. The house was well supplied with even a extra large crock pot to our surprise. One of the main floor bedrooms is senior friendly with a step in shower. The bedrooms downstairs are perfect for young folks and grandkids. With small children make sure you bring a safety gate or two as recommended. There are many steps to the lower level. Conclusion... this is the place to be in the Smokey's.

The view here is wonderful. My family and I spent many hours on the deck looking at the mountains. The house itself was great we all had plenty of room and was very clean. The kitchen in which we did a good amount of cooking had many utensils and pans to uses. From check in to check out we had a great experience.

Gatlinburg Manor was a fantastic home for three couples and 3 children. The two bedrooms that shared a bath was a great setup for parents with young children. The home was easy to find and had ample parking for our 3 vehicles, but you could easily fit a fourth. As always, the home was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with supplies. The closets even included a few hangers which was a nice touch. The decks had plenty of seating to enjoy the view of Mt.Leconte, and were well decorated with a variety of knick knacks. We saw several turkeys, bears, and a bobcat in the neighborhood. Mountain Laurel never lets us down.

Great place to stay. We are checking out in the morning and canƒ??t say enough good things about the place. The decks face East and the sunrise is absolutely gorgeous. At night you can see the lights of Gatlinburg below. For the price I assure you will not be disappointed. The drive is very steep but nothing a car canƒ??t handle. We seen a bear our first evening. Walked right up the driveway and snooped a bit before going on up the mountain.

The house is in great working order. Everything was clean and functioning as expected. Lots of open space in the house with magnificent views from the back patio. The house had plenty of kitchen items to do some cooking in the kitchen. We did like that the driveway is level with the road for easy in and out.

I love the bear decor... We enjoyed the cabin. Needs a few repairs or just a expansion of the upstairs shower... Kind of scary on the bend coming to the front door.. Would be nice to put a sound alarm or a camera so that one could be aware someone is coming around to the front door.. Beautiful view of the skylift at night.. Otherwise we loved it!

Thanks for the review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay in the Smokies. We appreciate your comments about the blind spot on the walkway, but the only risk would be a bear and then mostly during summer when there are more people generating more trash on the mountain. The crime rate in Gatlinburg is surprisingly low when you consider 12 million people a year traveled through here last year. The homeowner had a gate on the walkway at one point to discourage bear traffic, but they just went around it. Most of our guests love to see bears and we have information sheets in all the cabins about how to behave around a bear (i.e. look before you go outside and never approach or feed a bear). We look forward to your next visit with us.

What a great trip again this year with Mountain Laurel Chalets. We absolutely loved Gatlinburg Manor - it was our first time staying in this chalet. We’re already planning our trip next year to stay here again! We celebrated retirements of all 6 of us as well as celebrating our 20th year anniversary of our Fall Friends Trip!

During these annual trips we always have a Friendsgiving dinner - this kitchen was so well equipped that it was just as easy as cooking at home. The bedrooms were all very nice (would enjoy seeing them fully decorated without COVID restrictions- bedspreads, etc).

The view was gorgeous and it was so nice to be able to sit out on the large decks since the weather was so warm. We always enjoy having a wood burning fireplace rather than gas even if we got very little use out of the fireplace this year with the warm temperatures.

All in all it was a great trip complete with our usual hiking, lots of eating, a little shopping, much visiting and catching up and some jigsaw puzzle working!

It was rebuilt to brand new after the fires, and no expense was spared in quality, comfort, amenities and charming decor. The themed bedrooms are delightfully decorated. The kitchen is well stocked with all you need to cook meals for a few or a crowd. The view of Mt Le Conte is expansive and amazing, and we couldn’t get enough of the wonderful covered decks on both levels. There were only three of us this trip, but Gatlinburg Manor has five king bedrooms and would easily accommodate a big family or group. We have enjoyed a number of Mtn Laurel’s chalets and cabins over the years, and I would give this property my highest rating. Hope to stay there again soon!

Really liked our stay at the Gatlinburg Manor. The view is great. Make sure you lock your car every time! We were in the cabin only a couple of minutes when 2 bears opened 2 doors on my car and got in. Luckfully, I didn’t have food in it.

This place was beautiful. The view was great and the place was clean. We were a family of 6 and there was plenty of room. Just a quick drive to downtown Gatlinburg and one of the many pools available to use was just a few minutes drive around the corner. I’d stay here again.

We rented Above Laurelwood for our family of 4. The cabin had plenty of room, great kitchen, bonus pool table and hot tub for our family to enjoy and a great view from the front deck to enjoy!
This cabin is also in a perfect location, you are 5 minutes from the National Park and 3 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg but far enough away to enjoy the peacefulness of the mountains!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Gatlinburg Manor. Check in and out was easy. Had to call maintenance a couple times, once for a hot tub issue and once for a leak under the bathroom sink. Both times they were quick and efficient and unobtrusive

We have been coming to Gatlinburg for over 10 years and always stay at Above Laurelwood. It's idea for just the two of us (plenty of room) and great view. We love that the owners decorate it for Christmas when we visit there in December.

The cabin was really nice. We enjoyed the pool table and hot tub. Kitchen was well equipped to prepare Thanksgiving dinner. Great area to enjoy all the football that weekend. Short distance to downtown Gatlinburg for food and shopping.

There's a saying in these mountains. If you don't like the weather in the Smokies, just wait a minute and it will change or so it seems. It snowed a couple of days after you left, so you never know what's going to happen in the mountains. Glad you had a good time, despite the weather. First I always rent from my. Laurel, they always take great care o me. I stayed in this chalet before the fires and the owners have done a great job rebuilding. So much room we had ten ladies and plenty of room. I love this chalet and will stay there again. And we saw bears in the driveway and back yard.

We had an amazing weekend at this house for a fun girls’ weekend! The home is beautiful, newly reconstructed, with plenty of space and gorgeous views of the mountains. It’s easy to find, though be aware the roads to get there are windy with some steep uphills, so proceed cautiously. Short drive to get from there into Gatlinburg for any activities or food you want, or just hang at the house...pool table, hot tub, pools nearby, lots of room to hang out, cook, etc. Highly recommend this house and this management company. They were so kind and helpful through the whole process.

Our short stay at the Alpine Getaway chalet was lovely. It was quiet, secluded and surrounded by the woods. We loved being away from the noise and hubbub of downtown Gatlinburg. Frankly, we weren't interested in the tacky tourist-trap stuff in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, so this fit our needs perfectly. It was nice to be up in the mountains, but still close to the entry to the national park. It was a good central location for getting to see all the various parts of the park.

We've stayed in cabins in Gatlinburg on numerous MLK weekends in the past. Above Laurelwood is a nice cabin with a very good view of the mountains and the tram. The cabin is clean and well maintained. The upstairs bathroom is a little small (but understandably so due to the limited space in the loft) to be paired with the king bed, but it didn't cause us any problems. The pool table and outdoor hot tub were very nice (the hot tub has a great view of the mountain/tram but is very private otherwise.) One recommendation would be to add a sleeper sofa to accommodate two kids sleeping separately or a family of 5/6.

The cabin is convenient to Ober Gatlinburg (less than 5 minutes away) and only 5-7 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg. We got a little snow while we were there but didn't have any issues with the roads to the cabin (there are multiple road that you can use to get to the cabin if some of the roads were to ice over.)

We enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider renting Above Laurelwood again.

If you're planning to stay in the mountains of Gatlinburg you owe it to yourself to call about this wonderful cabin. Minutes to town but miles from everything you go to the moutains to escape. Great view of the Ober Tram and beautiful views of the mountains.

Overall a nice rental location in Gatlinburg. The house is laid out nicely with two bedrooms and a central living / TV area. The house is secluded enough that you don't have to worry about neighbors, but doesn't really offer any type of scenic view. The kitchen was well stocked and I can't remember needing anything it didn't provide - though it wasn't as bright as I like when cooking. Really, our only drawback to our rental experience was being provided 4 towels to use for 4 adults. You had to use a towel for the hot tub then the same one after a shower. We ended up going and buying more towels. Could have brought some from home, but wasn't expecting towel quotas. Nothing about this house that would keep us from renting here again, but I do prefer more of a view from the deck / hot tub, so might look for other options next time.

We've been coming to Gatlinburg for 20 years for a family reunion. We have never been disappointed. This year was no exception...the chalet was clean, nicely decorated (even had a Christmas Tree!) and convenient to everything.

We loved the Above Laurelwood cabin! Sitting on the porch watching the Ober Gatlinburg tram go by was very relaxing. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The only thing we didn't love was how tiny the upstairs shower was but there isn't much that can be done about that. The people from the rental company were all extremely friendly and helpful. We can't wait to come back and stay here again!

My wife and I have stayed with MLC for the past 10 years at least! We always enjoy our stays , some times more than others!! but never bad! Staff is always kind and helpful. This trip was kind of sad seeing all the damage to the many cabins we have stayed in due to the fires. Our prayers remain with you guys always! This cabin is a little older but we knew that when we rented it, so no complaints there. bedroom main floor is very small and the bed was comfy but made a lot of noise.. I thought Gatlinburg would be more viewable from the deck but it was not! You could see it, but not what could be considered viewable, But I dont believe that was part of the Description anyway, I just had it in my head from a review or maybe knowledge of that area.. the tram was nice! Everything else was as it should be! we had a peaceful and wonderful time.. See y'all in November.

Wonderful cabin with amazing views of the sky tram and the mountains. Very clean and with all the amenities you could possibly need we had a blast using the hot tub at night and it's close enough to Gatlinburg that you can run back to the cabin to drop off food or things you've bought and go back out. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be staying again with Mountain Laurel Chalets. Excellent customer service thank you so much for a wonderful trip!

The cabin was nice. The only complaint is the fan in the upstairs bedroom made a lot of noise. I was disappointed in the view because I was told it had a view of downtown Gatlinburg and it didn't. Don't get me wrong. The view of the mountains was gorgeous. I just like looking at the city lights at night too.

Our 5-night stay at this chalet could not have been better! This home was so peaceful and serene. The d??cor and amenities were very tastefully done. The rocking chairs and the Ober Gatlinburg tram passing by may times per day were a wonderful touch! The property it high up on the mountain but still very easy to get to (we've been known to get lost at some of the other locations). Mountain Laurel Chalets are top-notch in customer service and cleanliness - we will rent from no one else when staying on the mountain :)

We had a great time in Gatlinburg and our chalet was awesome! Very comfortable and the view is amazing. If you prefer to spent your nights in the privacy of your own house, away from the crowds and noise of the city, renting a chalet is the best way to go.

My family had a fantastic time at this cabin. The place was spotless, had a well stocked kitchen and a great view. My son loved watching the tram go by and waving to the people! Check-in was very fast and easy. We loved this cabin and will definitely consider staying again on our next trip to Gatlinburg!
