I didn't really understand why we had to stop by the office to pick up an envelope containing the keypad entry code as opposed to it being emailed but nonetheless the cabin was great. The cleaning checkout guidelines were very vague and there was not an outside trash can to put the garbage from the house in so we gathered everything and out it with the kitchen trash can. The view was amazing and the short ride to town but the seclusion of the cabin was wonderful.

Making reservations was simple. Check-in went smoothly and the registration staff were very friendly and helpful. well furnished and cozy. The bear theme throughout had us hoping we'd see bears during our stay and we were not disappointed as a Mama bear and her four cubs made their way past one of our bedroom windows mid-day on our second day there. The kitchen had all the essentials for us to create stay-in meals whenever we wanted and dining on the deck was an added bonus. The mountain views and morning sunrises from the deck added a very special touch. The hot tub was a welcome treat at the end of the day and we used the step-stool from the back closet to help our ""old"" bodies get in safely. Loved the reflective lighting in the bedrooms and the skylight in the second bathroom; kept the cozy feel of the place. And the views from the windows help remind us that we were ""in the mountains"" as the hillside and trees came right up to the foundation. Mattress and pillow comfort as well as the adjustable heating/air-conditioning controls lead to perfect nights of sleep. We struggled with the ""smart"" features of the TV's and ""Alexa"" since we don't have either in our everyday lives. Gave up on ""Alexa"" when she couldn't play ""music from the 80's"" so we just told her to ""go to sleep"". Found out the TV issue was NOT US and after calling the office someone was up within a couple of hours to repair and change the batteries and access codes on all three TV's. We had too many other mountain things planned for the stay so the TV was not a priority

We had a great stay in Bear Paw. The home was very clean and perfect for our family of 4. We enjoyed the Mountain Views while staying there. We seen 5 bears. One day we seen a bear outside in the driveway and later found out it was on our truck because we had bear paws all over the bed of our truck. Hence the name of the home! One bed frame in the room to the right needs to be replaced. It would squeak a lot when you moved. Also, we couldn’t get the tv to work in the other room. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

What more can be said that I haven't said before. Third time we have stayed here and it is so perfect for us.
Housekeeping always does a bang up job as well as Mt Laurel Chalets. Hubby and I have back issues and I can't do stairs. It is perfect for that situation. I think the only thing I would recommend to the owners would be to put a hand held shower head in the big shower so if someone is a little challenged they could take a shower sitting down. I expect at some point to have to do that and would love to continue coming down and using only Bear Paw and that would be a huge plus. We love the recliners so please don't ever change that. Thank you for renting your home to us oldies. We appreciate your special attention and touches.

We arrived soon after a snowstorm, but Gatlinburg City crews had treated the roads and Mountain Laurel Chalets had treated the driveway.
We enjoyed the gas grill, the sauna, the wood burning fireplace, etc. very much!
Our chalet was ver comfortable, homey, and had everything we needed in the kitchen.
We were very pleased and plan to return to Bear Paw some day.

Bear Paw is a fantastic chalet to enjoy after a fresh snowstorm! It has all the amenities you need to enjoy your time in the smokies. We always want to make sure that our houses are prepared for our guests, especially when driving conditions may not be ideal. Very Good. The only issue was the living room furniture. It was completely worn out and very uncomfortable. I would not recommend until the furniture has been replaced.

We enjoyed our stay at Bear Paw, and would consider renting again. The only drawback to this property was the living room furniture. The sofa had reclining chairs which was a good/bad thing. The reclining aspect was nice, but it was uncomfortable laying crosswise due to the hard bars dividing the seating sections. If you were here in the summer doing lots of outdoor activities this would be a non-issue. However, we were spending the week enjoying family time, watching movies, etc, so this was a bit of a drawback for us. Otherwise the property was very private, the hottub was hot, the beds were comfortable, and the view was beautiful!

This was one of the best cabins we have stayed at. The location was amazing and you could see the mountains through your window and from the deck. It was absolutely clean and spotless. It is spacious. We were a party of 2 adults and 2 kids and were really comfortable. The location is perfect and you are in Gatlinburg and yet away from the crowd. The property management was very responsive and helpful.
The drive to the property is pretty steep but you get used to it pretty quick.
We would be staying here again for sure on our next visit.

We absolutely loved our stay at Bear Paw!!! The view was amazing and the chalet was super clean! We had daily visits from bears. We had a bobcat walk up the driveway one evening. The squirrels and birds would visit the railing on the deck looking for some bread. The comical squirrels would even bunt their head against the chalet glass door to the deck letting you know they were there. We also had a shy sweet tabby cat that would stop by daily looking for some goodies. We sure do miss seeing all these furry and feathered guys!! :) We have stayed with MLC for many years and there is a good reason for that, they are the BEST!! Thank you so much for another awesome vacation!! Also the owners have done incredible work on this chalet, thank you for sharing your beautiful home!! We would love to stay again at Bear Paw!!!

We absolutely loved Bear Paw!! The view was amazing!!! We have stayed with MLC for many years and there is a reason for that, they are the BEST!! The chalet was very clean. We had daily visits from some furry friends. The highlight was a momma bear and her three cubs that stopped by on two different days and she nursed them by the deck one day and the other day in the driveway of the chalet. We also had a bobcat walk up the driveway one night and then we also had some funny spoiled squirrels and birds that came by the deck railing looking for some bread crumbs. One squirrel even bunted his head against the glass door to the deck to let you know he was there. Also a shy little tabby cat would stop by looking for goodies, sweet little thing. Thank you to Mountain Laurel for another amazing vacation and also to the owners for sharing their beautiful home, they have done an incredible with the work on the chalet. This is our 2nd time in Bear paw but this time with Mt Laurel. Much better than last with Vrbo. Housekeeping does a fantastic job. Kitchen is fully stocked to cook there. Trimming was done so a better view. We are of the older generation so it's nice to have everything on one level including the ramp in...only 3 steps up to the ramp. Washer dryer a great plus. Only suggestion we would make is for safety reasons. Leaving out at bottom of driveway BE VERY CAREFUL. It's hard to see anything coming around that blind curve on your left. One of those mirrors we've seen on other curves would be excellent there. We actually came close to being hit one morning. Otherwise we would definitely stay there again and not hesitate to use Mt Laurel to rent from.

Overall experience was great. Tbe cabin was very clean , and stocked with kitchen essentials. The view was great as well. The only negative is the very steep Driveway. Other than That, > would highly recommend this cabin. Loved the stay!

We really enjoyed our stay in Bear Paw during the last week in April 2021. The chalet has been nicely furnished abd updated with granite counters in the kitchen and both bathrooms, and the hardwood flooring throughout the living and dining areas is beautiful. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to prepare meals—just bring the food and you’re all set. Seating in the living room is comfortable but for tv viewing, it is limited to a sofa. Just some suggestions ... There is a recliner in a corner and it would be nice to rearrange a bit so the tv could be seen from it. Printed instructions for operating the main TV and the TVs in the bedrooms would be helpful, and a printed TV guide would be nice to have, as well. Some board games, books, DVDs, etc., would also be a nice touch.

The drive up to the chalet is quite steep in spots, but it’s doable and you get used to it after the first trip up. After all, you’ve got to climb a little bit to get to what most of us come to Gatlinburg for, the panoramic views of the mountains. Bear Paw certainly did not disappoint in that regard! It’s a very nice cozy, one-level chalet that would perfect for two couples or a small family. We’d be happy to stay there again!

The view from the deck is both relaxing and beautiful, so the steep drive is definitely worth it and quite manageable, just trust your car to get you there. We discovered a remote was missing for the living room television and got a replacement, so that may have contributed to your difficulty with operating the TV in the living room. The chalet is new to our program and was recently updated and the hot tub deck has been replaced as well. The homeowner also has plans to replace the railings so the view can be enjoyed from a seated position. We appreciate your other suggestions and hope you will call us again soon.

The chalet's view was beautiful! We were disappointed with the condition of the chalet. The deck is rotten with holes, the bathrooms are very outdated with mold in the showers, and the chalet doesn't have a clean look at all! The driveway is very steep and we can't imagine being able to get up it in the winter! We enjoyed our trip but disappointed with the chalet.

Thanks for the review and we appreciate your comments very much. We regret the chalet did not meet your expectations and are taking steps to prevent that from happening with future guests of Bear Paw. Maintenance has inspected the deck and found one board with a weak spot in it, which they replaced. The owner will be replacing the entire deck as soon as rentals allow. Housekeeping will address the mold in the showers and go through the rest of the house as well. The driveway does have an incline, which is typical of homes on the mountain, but we take the steepness into consideration when we accept a house on our program and turn down anything we view as hazardous. If you are not used to mountain roads and driveways, it takes a few times driving them to adjust, but all roads on Ski Mountain are paved and two lane. Snow in winter is another story and we do a lot of scraping and salting of driveways. We hope you will consider staying with us again and enjoy the beauty of our area.

We've stayed at this chalet several times. This was our first stay with Mountain Laurel as the management company. The upgrades were very nice. Glad the carpet is gone in living and dining areas. The view was great in March. In August, the view is somewhat blocked from the tall trees. It would be nice if they were trimmed back some. Overall, it is a great place to stay, private but can be downtown in just a few minutes. We love this place!

The new wood flooring and bedroom furniture are recent additions and were an excellent improvements. We looked to rent a cabin that had 3 things-a view, a fireplace, and a hot tub. This cabin had all three and was very clean as well as the utensils in the kitchen that you would need.

Check in was easy breezy. As soon as we arrived I jumped out of the truck to take a pic of the view...Breathless!!! Once we entered, the chalet was clean, cozy, and loaded with everything you need. The linen was clean and fresh. We enjoyed the sauna, and the hot tub at night was icing on the cake. It was clean and hot and clean. �� Everything was everything!! Book this place if you are looking for a private stay, with an amazing view. You will be happy you took my advice��

Bear Paw was a cozy chalet that was perfect for my wife and two teenagers. We loved it! Beautiful view, had snow and sunshine while there. We enjoyed the sauna and hot tub. We have stayed in many cabins in Gatlinburg but this is our favorite. Mountain Laurel great to deal with. Look forward to coming back!

We stayed in Bear Paw this past week for our second trip to Gatlinburg. The view was absolutely amazing and the cabin was beautiful and clean. The staff was great and we were very well taken care of! The cabin was super close to town but just far enough to have a breathtaking view of both the mountains and town. Though we did not see any bears this trip, we cannot wait to come back and stay with Mount Laurel again!

My sister and I took a last minute trip to Gatlinburg and rented Bear Paws for our stay. The house was perfect!! The driveway was a little scary, but do-able. The view of the mountains from the house was spectacular. I would definitely rent this house again.
