WHY LOCALLY OWNED AND OPERATED MATTERS

The Gatlinburg area just set a 30-year record for extended days of single-digit and subzero temps. This has proved to be a challenge for both homeowners and guests in our community. Our staff have been responding around the clock since December 23 to meet our guests’ needs and spare homes of as much damage and loss as possible.

BEING LOCAL IS IMPORTANT.

We are boots on the ground and able to address needs quickly with the help of our local team and resources. Companies and hosts that aren't locally operated are challenged to meet guests’ and owners’ needs in times like this. What makes a local management company different?

WE SHOW UP.

And though we aren’t able to deliver immediate solutions in all cases, we do our best to meet every need that arises. From no power or heat to frozen pipes and resulting water damage, we have faced every possible dilemma that weather like this creates. We've moved guests to different, unaffected houses and made last minute changes to booking details. We've completed on-site repairs of all sorts and scrambled to complete additional last-minute cleans. Even our office fell subject to the weather. Due to frozen and burst pipes, we had no water in our office for three days, which caused our laundry operations to cease. Thankfully our laundry staff had prepared enough backup linens and towels to carry us through. All of these challenges require a robust in-house operation, and our team's work has been stellar over these difficult days. And, thankfully, our guests and owners have been extremely patient and gracious in the process.

EVEN DOLLYWOOD CLOSED FOR TWO DAYS. WE DIDN’T.

Throughout the week our maintenance team arrived as early as 4:00am and worked until almost midnight. We addressed needs on Christmas Day, which was supposed to be a day of rest for our staff. Our employees answered phones and texts to coordinate changes and repairs and work orders. It’s the care only local vacation rental management companies can provide, and it’s not for the faint at heart.

To all of our guests that have been incovenienced, we thank you for your patience and understanding as we do our best to address your issues. To our homeowners, thank you for trusting our team to care for your home and treat it like our own. Mountain Laurel Chalets is proud to be going 50+ years strong in our beloved city where there is always peace to be found, even in the face of unexpected hardships. We are thankful that each new day provides a fresh start and new mercies to face any challenge.
