Looking for ideas on where to honeymoon?

First, congratulations! A honeymoon means you’re getting married, and being married is awesome! We wish you a long, happy, and healthy life with your soon-to-be spouse.

Now, let’s talk about the perfect honeymoon destination. A beach resort can be tons of fun, but there’s not much privacy to be had there. You could hit a European destination or a big American city, but, realistically, you’re going to be worn out from all things wedding-related and ready for some serious R&R. Making the most of a big city isn’t going to provide you with a slower rhythm.

So… why not opt instead for something entirely different?

A Smoky Mountains honeymoon provides you with endless opportunities for fun, relaxation, and even some adventure, should you so choose. You can enjoy one of nature’s most beautiful playgrounds, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, for nothing more than the cost of a parking pass. Take hikes to secluded waterfalls, pack a picnic and a blanket and spend the afternoon in Cades Cove, and pull off at the many scenic overlooks to snag some memorable selfies.

If you’re looking for some adventure, consider a day spent rafting on the Pigeon River, or experience the thrill of Dollywood’s nine epic roller coasters, which are some of the best in the country (we offer our guests free tickets to both!). The Smoky Mountain region also offers incredible zip-lining courses which allow you to soar your way through the Smokies, or you can unleash your inner wild side by taking a guided UTV tour, or hit miles of mountain-biking trails at a brand new 900-acre adventure park nestled between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Maybe you’d prefer some shopping and sightseeing. No problem! Take a stroll through iconic downtown Gatlinburg, enjoying stops at local shops along the way. Many local artisans have storefronts along Parkway, and their work is overwhelmingly beautiful. Stop in at Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen and grab some freshly-made taffy, or grab a scoop of your favorite ice cream at Kilwin’s. No matter what you fancy, you’ll enjoy a day in this delightful and unique city.

Looking forward to savoring meals with your sweetie? The Smokies have that covered. There are countless local dining options to choose from, from down-home southern barbecue and farm-to-table fare to high-end steakhouses and even local breweries and moonshineries (don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried the cotton-candy moonshine).

Want to stay in and cook a romantic dinner with your new spouse? No problem! All of our Smoky Mountain cabins offer fully-equipped kitchens for that very reason. Simply grab your groceries, head to your home away from home, and you’ll be all set to prepare a special meal together.

That leads us to the most important element of any honeymoon: your accommodations. Our suggestion? Skip the hotel and opt for one of our romantic cabins instead. You’ll have access to an entire home as opposed to a single hotel room, and each property is chock full of amenities.
