Those of you that are business owners outside of the Gatlinburg area need to be aware of some trade shows that happen here every year. The city of Gatlinburg plays host to the SmokyMountain Gift Show and also The Norton Show comes four times a year. These shows are for wholesalers that need to buy stock to sell in their respective markets.
This year the first fall show is the Smoky Mountain Gift Show which takes place in early November at the Gatlinburg Convention Center. This wholesale market has a huge variety of wares with vendors from all over the United States. Their information states – “This show is for professional buyers of the gift and home industries.” ” Showcasing Tennessee’s Largest selections of New Resources under one roof for more than 50 years.” They offer souvenirs, clothing, jewelry, decorative items, knives, purses and more. You will need to be prepared to preregister with them in order to obtain your express pass. Please be prepared to provide some basic business information and to show ID, pay stubs, Tax ID and so forth on the day of the show. For this show most vendors will require minimum orders and you would be buying in bulk and need credit approval in some cases.
“The Norton Shows” put on shows in March, June, September and November each year. This locally owned show brings in a huge amount of buyers each time with the November show being the largest – around 18,000 buyers usually make the trip. This show features vendors with jewelry, purses, clothing, lingerie, purses, leathers, furs, floral, Spa/beauty, Medicinal items,Electronics, Self Defense, gourmet and home decor items. You may place orders with vendors or take items cash and carry. The Norton Shows bring high quality merchandise and the newest trends to our fair city so that you can offer the latest and greatest to your clientele.
