This is our 5th time renting from Mt Laurel Chalets and our the second time we have stayed at Pinetop! We really like this property! It’s cozy and has a great view! As usual, the management company was easy to work with! The plugs in the kitchen weren’t working when we arrived and they had someone to the property within 15 minutes to fix it. We would definitely stay at this property again and we will never rent from anyone besides Mt Laurel!

Our stay at the A-frame chalet Pinetop had some pros & cons. I loved the location as it was high up on the mountain & the view from the deck & hot tub was the summer the trees allow it to be secluded from other cabins around it. The hot was new & was awesome! The driveway up to the cabin is short but pretty steep. The pathway leading up to the cabin from the driveway is just a mulched pathway & is fairly steep so this would present a challenge for anyone with breathing problems to negotiate numerous times. The cabin is small as you would expect an A-frame to be. The place was very clean but the furniture in the living area is old & needs to be updated. The front door is hard to open & close properly but does close & lock. Kitchen area is small but functional. We never cook while we are on vacation so this was not an issue with us. The loft bedroom area was small but the queen bed was comfortable. The queen bed in the main bedroom squeaks very bad when you first lay or sit on it. Both bathrooms were very clean & functional. We only stayed here for the weekend but I would not want to stay here for a week due to how small it was & the outdated uncomfortable furniture.We prefer cabins with larger living areas. The biggest plus for this cabin is the new deck with new hot tub & outstanding view of the mountains especially while sitting in the hot tub! The flat screen tv in the living area is very small but functional. The flat screen tv in the bedroom is much larger but you can only get apps on it, no regular tv programming.This cabin, although it has had some upgrades, would be much more appealing if the furniture & tv in the living area was upgraded. I loved the location of the cabin!

Thanks for the review and we are glad you enjoyed your brief stay at Pine Top. The owner has been made aware of your concerns and we are looking for solutions. The TV in the living room was changed out for a larger screen, smart TV, with the Spectrum cable app. No more cable boxes! Plus you can stream Netflix, Hulu, etc using your log in credentials. The bedroom TV is already configured this way and the "regular programming"" you speak of are under the Spectrum app (our local cable provider). We look forward to seeing you in the mountains again soon. "

First of all I want to say we had a great time. The place was in some disrepair. It certainly could use some TLC. Lights burned out, missing shade draws, shingles falling off. The inside was dated but okay, didn't feel like the cleaning crew pays close attention to detail, dead roaches in window sill, feather pillow leaking feathers. It's a lot of a little things that would have made the stay much better.
The office staff was awesome, but next stay we will probably find something more secluded, and in better shape. Maybe we are too picky, but I look at all the little things that make a difference.

Beautiful scenery but no peace and quiet. It is above a 3 way intersection and during the day was construction going on and during the evening all we heard was traffic. Got there on Saturday and hot tub did not work. Maintenance was great and got the breaker fixed on day 2. Hot tub took 4 days to heat to 101 and that was pushing the jets button every 20 minutes to heat it up faster. Tv in living room was really small. Tv in bedroom only has apps. The oven kept tripping the breaker they just installed so we ended up grilling everything. If you want a beautiful scenery 5 stars. We did have visits from bears a couple nights! Overall good vacation.

Thanks for the review and we hope you were able to enjoy your stay in the mountains. The intersection below Pine Top can be busy, but nothing like being downtown! We regret you had problems with the oven and hot tub, everything has now been resolved. The TV in the living room has been changed out and is a larger, smart TV. It is the exact same one that is in the bedroom and both TV's have the Spectrum app loaded so you can access our local cable system. Plus, you can stream movies from Netflix, Hulu, etc using your account and log in credetials. The bears have been highly active this year and are keeping us busy! We hope you can return again soon.

The cabin is very cozy. Great view of the mountains. We saw a bear twice during our stay. The only complaint is that it was difficult getting our luggage/cooler from the car to the cabin. There is a rough path (like a trail) from the parking area to the 10 steps up to the cabin. My husband and I are in our mid/late 60s, so it was difficult for us to get our stuff in the cabin. This is a perfect place for a younger couple, or an older couple that is in better shape than we are :-)

We stayed at Pinetop 25 years ago for our honeymoon. We came back to celebrate our 25th anniversary. It is a precious little cabin. We would love to own it! The upgraded decorating is very nice. The owners must have been working on the landscape or something while we were there because the front yard area was a muddy mess due to the rain. A retaining wall would help to prevent the mud that covers the cars in the drive. As others have mentioned, the master mattress is very noisy. We missed the large soaking tub inside that has been replaced by a twin shower, but it was fine with the addition of a new hot tub. This is the perfect cabin for a couple. It is adorable and has basically all you need. We love it and will definitely go back again.

We are happy that you were able to relive your 25th anniversary in the same cabin you honeymooned in so long ago. The chalet has undergone many changes in those 25 years, but the mountains will always stay the same. The yard was just planted again after the new hot tub was installed and the new deck was put in place and we apologize. The new hot tub you referred to was lifted onto the deck with heavy machinery the week before your arrival and though a contained webbing of hay was used on top of the new grass seed, the amount of rain we received caused the excess run off.

Location is excellent and secluded. Wonderful master bedroom and bathroom. Small kitchen that needed some additional drinking glasses. Would have been nice to have the hot tub already heated prior to arrival. Living room TV remote wouldn't change channel (batteries were good). Office staff friendly and helpful. Had a little trouble running the TV remote, but the office was quick to help out. Beautiful scenery and we loved the fall colors at Pine Top. A black bear climbed in our unlocked SUV, so be sure to keep your vehicle locked up. : )

Yes! Pinetop is a fantastic chalet that is exactly what you need for a perfect mountain vacation. We also love the fireplace, and how cozy it can make the chalet feel! The bed in the large bedroom squeaked constantly each time we would roll over, so bad it made me laugh everytime, sad to pay that kind of money to have to hear it! We spent our first trip to Gatlinburg in this cabin. The view of the mountains was incredible and the cabin was very clean. The hot tub was well maintained, and all the appliances worked fine. It's located close to Gatlinburg which is great, yet still tucked away in the beautiful landscape.

We enjoyed our time at Pinetop. It was clean and comfortable. We could see the Smokies from the deck and were a short drive from hiking trails in the park. We felt very secluded even though there are other homes in the area. And the hot tub was a nice treat after a long hike. The kitchen is not very big if you really want to cook, but it was fine for just 2 of us making lite meals.

We had a great stay at Pinetop! The cabin is decorated so cute and was really cozy and clean. Our daughter loved the loft upstairs and having her own bathroom. The en-suite bathroom in the main bedroom was so nice and convenient. We had only two issues during our stay: one being that the hot tub was finally warm on our last night and even then was only 98 degrees. The TV in the main bedroom had a cable remote but no cable box, the cable cord was plugged into the TV but just hanging. That ended up being okay because we really only used the living room TV but the bedroom TV is larger so it would’ve been nice to use it if we had a rainy day. Luckily the weather was great for us and we were out most of the time enjoying the beauty of Tennessee!

The downstairs bedroom TV does not have a cable box because it is a smart TV and has the cable app from Spectrum loaded on the smart screen menu. It should come up as soon as the TV is turned on and you click on Spectrum to get all the cable channels. Or, you can chose another on line platform such as Netflix or Hulu if you have your own account. Please contact us the next time you run into maintenance issues and let us help you. My family of four (two adults and two children) enjoyed our stay at Pine-top. The unit was very clean. The hot tub worked great. Beautiful view. Great location- Close to downtown Gatlinburg & the National Park. There could have been more explicit directions in the check in information to LOCK YOUR CAR while in the driveway. A bear opened our car door while it was in the driveway and climbed through it. Luckily it only caused minimal damage. We frequently spotted bears in the yard. One complaint is that there was trash all over the ground by the gated trash cans by the road. I called management and was told it would be taken care of, but it was not. To me, this was additional “bear bait”.

We had a great time at Pinetop! It was clean and felt like home and also in our favorite location to stay in Gatlinburg. Only downfall was that the hot tub wouldn't heat up above 94 degrees. Overall, a great cabin and location!

My daughters and I had a really nice time. I'm only joking about the bears. I love wildlife, although we only saw 2 turkeys! I am not sure what would have happened if we actually saw bears! The house was clean and had everything we needed. Two small nitpicks: the outside lights weren't working (or I couldn't figure them out), and there is a pillow on the sofa that has down filling....that thing needs to go!! The little feather ends stick out and scratch your skin! I was so ready to vanish that thing!! I think the view in the fall once leaves have gone down would be much better, but otherwise, nice, quiet location.

Our first time in the Smokey Mountains and the place was beautiful. Our house was in a great location- far enough from the hustle and bustle, but close enough for quick evening in town. Cabin was older, but clean and management was quick to respond. Can't wait to go back!!

We have always enjoyed our time spent at Pine Top. We did notice the shower off the hallway had no water pressure what-so-ever. A few nails were protruding from the decking just outside the main entrance. Other than those two issues our stay was Sooooooo nice yet again. Thank you :-)

We had a great stay at the Pinetop A-frame cabin. Super cute place and the view was excellent. Very close to town and the entrance of GSMNP. Hot tub was not working on night 1 but the staff was quick upon getting it fixed for us. I would definitely stay at Mt Laurel Chalets in the future, but the only reason I would not return to this particular cabin is due to the mattresses that need to be replaced.

The privacy of the lot gives one a feeling of being in the woods, but you are able to enjoy a great mountain view and be within 5 minutes of downtown. Overall a nice place to stay. Great view from the deck, and close to downtown Gatlinburg. It is an older A-Frame, but has been somewhat updated. The new master bathroom is a plus, as the other bathroom is quite small. The hot tub was great to have. The only negative and disappointment was the BBQ grill and stove. The grill did not work, which in my opinion should have been checked by the rental company before occupants check in. It shouldn’t be the responsibility of the occupants to check, considering the price charged for each night. Also, the tank itself was very low in gas. The stove worked fine, but needs to be updated as The burners don’t sit flat when trying to use. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend staying here.

We rented Pinetop for the week of Thanksgiving and it worked out perfectly for our family (husband, 2 kids (5 & 3) and myself). The cabin has recently been updated and they did a nice job. It was very clean and it was really nice having the 2 full baths. It does have a steep driveway but we didn't have any issues. We backed up the driveway which made it easier to pull out of the driveway when we would leave. Check in and out was very easy as everything is contactless. We would definitely stay at this property again!

The cabin was recently renovated with a brand new bathroom in the master, which was also renovated with new flooring and layout. The view is still one of my favorite things about this chalet. Just like every other time, we had a few bears come around & visit which makes the experience even more enjoyable. What a beautiful chalet. The absolute greatest view and we truly enjoyed this vacation so much!! The staff was awesome and it was easy enough to get to and from Gatlinburg from here. The only couple concerns or downfalls were that the driveway was extremely hard to get up and we believe you should tell guests before purchasing this vacation rental. Luckily we had a truck and was able to figure it out but coming from the main road and having such a sharp turn to try and get up the very steep driveway would be nearly impossible for a small vehicle so maybe something to consider putting in the description online. And also the furniture and decor is so cute but the beds were absolutely horrible. And it is not just preference on if you like soft or firm mattresses they just felt like we were sleeping on 50 year old mattresses so maybe invest on new mattresses. Otherwise we really did love the charm and simplicity of this chalet and would recommend it to others!! Thanks!!

My husband and I leased this Chalet for 2 weeks. Very clean, nice furnishings, met all of our needs. Great view of the mountains and very private from the neighbors. Nice deck, grill and hot tub. Check-in and check-out extremely easy. The management company were available, friendly and followed thru promptly with our requests. Would definitely lease this Chalet again in the future.

We leased this home to go hiking and to enjoy nature during the Corona Virus. It was conveniently located, a great mountain view, private (could not see the neighbors)and a nice secluded hot tub on the deck. It was a comfortable home to come back to after a long days hike. We leased this home for two weeks and cooked our meals at home due to the corona virus. The only things lacking in the kitchen were sharp knives, a sharp can opener and some storage bowls with lids would have been nice for leftovers. We ate breakfast and dinner on the deck every day and spent several hours outside in the evening enjoying the beautiful mountains. The wrought iron chairs needed cushions. Very minor things in general. Overall, the home was spotless, well maintained and the management company answered calls and requests promptly and were very friendly.

Stayed here on our Honeymoon in 1983. Loved it then and loved it again. Great view and location. Nothing fancy but met all of our needs, and we enjoyed sitting on deck and looking at Mt. Leconte.

So glad to have you back and congratulations on 37 years of marriage! Pine Top looks a little different now, but we think it's fantastic! The traditional A-frame shape of the cabin gives you a true mountain experience that a modern chalet doesn't have. We are partial to the older houses because they have more character. We hope to see you for many more years to come.

The only problem we had was getting to chalet door from parking area. It was a steep climb of about 50ft on a rugged path up to the stairs. For older people this was a bit difficult to navigate.

Very nice 9 day stay. All the warnings about the bears are for real. Trash container at bottom of drive did not latch properly. Mama bear and 4 cubs got into it on day 4. Very cute, but quite the mess! Property MGMT responded immediately and added a bear proof hasp. Problem solved. Great spot and stunning Vista.

We were very happy with our Chalet rental experience. We only stayed for two nights on a last minute trip and felt lucky to find this unit. The staff at the office was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The chalet was clean and spacious—more than the two of us needed. The view from the wrap-around porch was astonishingly beautiful and a wonderful location for morning coffee. Would not hesitate to recommend Mountain Laurel Chalets to my family and friends.

Peaceful, a little hard to see so we passed it a couple times but it was dark. Daytime was easier to spot. Other than that we had a great time. Would definitely rent again from Mountain Laurel Chalets

Pinetop offered us a great 2 day get away from work. While we had no bear experience while there we were cautioned to lock our car because the bears have figured out how to open them while looking for food. Furniture could be updated some. Lower bedroom a little tight.
Recliners would be great. Very secluded for hot tub use. Driveway is fine for summer, might be tough in winter bad weather. Would go back.

We just dropped into the office to see about staying a couple of days, the staff was so friendly and helpful. We later decided to stay 4 more days The house was clean and comfortable. Other than the deck could use some stain, the house was very much to our liking, we felt at home. It was a good workout bringing our stuff up the path and stairs. We had a bear pawprint on our car one morning that kind of shocked us. Overall the house is well supplied and very comfortable for a couple or even more. We can't say enough about the friendly staff at Mountain Laurel and we will definitely be back again

This is a good chalet to get away from it all as you are nestled in the forest with a nice view of Mt. LeConte. No neighbors are visible. On a bear path, so need to take precautions to prevent encounters. Enjoyed our stay very much and would go back again.

Great little hide away on the mountain. Beautiful view, some but not much road noise. Had a nice visit from a baby (150# Bear). Came right up on the deck after we returned from dinner. Hot tub was clean and property was clean. Mattress in main bedroom was very soft, making for a slightly uncomfortable sleep. Staff vas very friendly and helpful.

My vacation rental experience was fantastic. I think the only concern I had was the check out process. We couldn’t find any information on how the check out but we went right to the office and they helped. Maybe include check out process I.e. linens, trash, etc. in guest binder.

When we first arrived, we were a little disappointed in the cabin. The cabin is a lot older than it appears in the photos, we feel it needs a little TLC. After we were there and settled in we loved the quietness, the beauty from our porch and the amenities the cabin had to offer.

Was a very good experience. Cabin was older but clean. We had a Million dollar view of the mountains. I would stay there again and recommend to anyone. Would recommend a good gps -our phones didn't have good service in mountains. We couldn't find the office when we arrived when my wife called for directions they told us several times that we should have read our paperwork before offering help. ( was a little frustrating to hear after being in the car for 10 hours but probably should have read the paperwork haha ). They stayed on the phone with us until we found them so I really can't complain.

This was our second time using Mountain Laurel Chalets & staying in Pine Top. The chalet was in excellent condition, just like last time. It actually looked like it did when we left it a few years ago with the exception of the hot tub being on the front of the deck which was a lot nicer than it being on the side like it was the first time. The view from Pine Top has always been our favorite thing about this chalet along with the mountain feel/cabin type design on the inside. When we arrived I forgot to mention to the staff that I had a $30 off coupon that I got the first time we came. I mentioned it as we were checking out but since my card had already been run a week prior I was unable to use it but the staff allowed me to grab a few t-shirts for me & my girlfriend to make up for it. The staff has always been extremely helpful & polite & that's one of the main reasons we will continue to recommend & use Mountain Laurel Chalets every time we visit Gatlinburg.

If you are looking for beautiful views, calm relaxation along with the most fun and entertaining experience...then Mountain Laurel Chalets is the best choice! I chose their Pine Top Chalet for one thing...the amazing view from the deck overlooking the Smokey Mountains! Then, when we arrived, we were very pleased with the cleanliness of the entire chalet, comfortable bed, large hot tub and the friendly, courteous staff that truly want you to have a great stay.
Our trip was to celebrate my 48th birthday in Gatlinburg, my first time, and I got to see a black bear, ride the gondola, eat at Bubba Gumps, visit the Space Needle, stroll the streets and be part of a funny/amazing show, Impossibilities Magic Show at the Iris Theatre! Thank you for making this trip one of my favorite memories...

There's always a concern when searching online and wondering whether or not the description and pictures used in the overview of a hotel/cabin/house are accurate. Pinetop was above and beyond what the pictures show. With a fireplace in the living room, a great drive up the mountains, and an incredible view from the hot tub on the front porch - it makes for the ideal mountain getaway. My girlfriend had been asking me for years to take a trip to Gatlinburg, and for being our first time with no experience of the area, we struck gold. We will be booking with Mountain Laurel Chalets and staying at Pinetop at least once a year now.

My partner and I stayed at Pinetop for 4 nights in late October/early November. We hoped to catch the end of the fall foliage, and we weren't disappointed! Definitely near the end of the season, but still very pretty around the park.

The cabin itself was great for the two of us. We didn't use the upstairs loft area, but the first floor had plenty of room for us. The large master bathroom was great. Never used the jacuzzi, so no comment about that. We did use the hot tub one night, and we were happy with the amount of privacy around the property. The kitchen was fine for the weekend. We cooked at the cabin for breakfast a couple times, and for most dinners. We only ventured into downtown Gatlinburg for brunch a couple times. We were there to hike and relax in the cabin, and we had a great time.

Overall a very positive experience with Mt. Laurel. If we find ourselves around the Smoky Mountains again (too many other things to see around the US!), I'd happily rent from them again. The communication was great, and they have a nice, streamlined system for late check-ins. We had everything we needed in the cabin for a wonderful weekend away.

We were nearby on business and booked the chalet last minute to spend some time in the Smokies. The place was great, very cozy and clean, and views were awesome. We felt as if we were home. The staff in the office were very helpful, even coming up to the chalet when there was a little user error on accessing the TV! Only complaint was the huge cobweb and nest of dust in the ceiling fan/light.

The view from the deck was beautiful. Although there were other properties nearby, the cabin still came across as secluded and private. The living areas were clean and in good repair, although the bathrooms needed to be updated with new tubs and shower. The bed was great. The kitchen was efficient and clean, although the dishwasher was old and noisy. I found the couch to be well worn, but terrific for napping. Minor repairs needed to the outside lights. Overall, was satisfied with the cabin.

PineTop and Mountain Laurel Chalets provided us with the perfect weekend get away. The views from the desk for the morning sunrise were beautiful, and it also offered a nice area to sit and enjoy the beautiful mountain view. The location was great, as it was only 5-10 minutes from the bottom of the hill. The staff at Mountain Laurel immediately made us feel right at home when checking in, making it a great experience from the start.

We had been to this unit over 27 years ago, it was still in good condition, and a hot-tub was added. Only problem: the bathtub drain was clogged and slow to drain. Having a newspaper and fresh towels available daily was helpful.

I have stayed with Mtn. Laurel many times and as always they didn't disappoint. The staff was super friendly and the chalet was perfect for us. It is a smaller chalet with a pretty small kitchen so I would only recommend this one for one couple with only a couple of kids. The view was amazing and it is very private.
