This four bedroom place had plenty of space for our family of six. Each bedroom with their own bathroom is always nice. The kitchen and eating area was just right. The location worked out, close enough to the pool and tennis courts. Mountain driveways in this area can be steep and difficult, but this driveway was average or better in those terms. If you want to see a bear explore your deck, car, and grill daily for food - this is the place for you! It was a little shocking for our family at first to have the bear right in our business, and we decided to not use the grill or hot tub because of it. Some of the inside could use updating. A musty smell in the basement. Updated sticks and chalk for the pool table are a cheap and simple upgrade that would make playing a little more enjoyable. The TV’s are a little small and outdated compared to what I’m used to in my house, but these are pretty par for the course for rentals in the area. Overall, the price was very competitive and the place was clean and spacious. A short drive from Sugarland Visitor Center, which was a nice place for a Smokey Mountain home.

Thanks for the review and we are glad you enjoyed the location and amenities of the chalet - inside. Those pesky bears sure can make things interesting. The homeowner had just finished remodeling the bathroom prior to your visit, so he is working on updating. The cabin and location was great. Enjoyed the fireplaces and jacuzzi. Plenty of room in the cabin. The only suggestion I would have is to replace the dining room table as it is very old .

Any repairs noted to the front office where taken care of quickly. This is a older cabin needing a face lift but the size was great and that made up For the age of the cabin, Bathroom overall and painting needed.

We are always happy to address any concerns you have during your stay and wanted you to know the homeowners are planning on updating the bathroom very soon. We hope to see you in the mountains again soon.

This cabin is in the perfect location! Close to downtown and the National Park which was perfect for us! The property manager was amazing too! We would stay here again and highly recommend it and Mountain Laurel Chalets!

The drive way was tricky to get into with 12 passenger van other than that it was nice

There is definitely a trip to the driveway. I'm sure you noticed the mirror mounted across the street that enables you to look down the street, but the trick is the look up the street where you can see the road, then wait about 5 seconds to make sure no one is between that point and the driveway. I hear you thought, a 12 passenger van is quite long, but I'm sure you figured it out beautifully, We look forward to your next visit to the mountains!

Chalet was clean and comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. The gas grill was a plus. We only rent from MLC and as usual the staff was helpful and friendly. The only things that I didn't care for was the top deck has a noticeable slope and the dining table was painted black with latex paint. Always felt sticky and dirty, should have used oil based paint. Also one of the bathrooms on top level could use a fresh coat of paint.

The house was very clean upon our arrival. Although not a ton of square footage, the space is used incredibly well and slept 4 couples (8 people) very comfortably - including with everyone lounging around the communal areas. The location is PERFECT. You are right in the middle between Gatlinburg and Ober Gatlinburg - not far at all. A couple of things that aren't necessarily negative, but are worth noting: the driveway is very steep and has terrible visibility, so don't plan on bringing your Corvette. The dishwasher is pretty awful - not sure if its just a low quality model or if the filter needs cleaning. Warm water and pressure can be lacking when multiple people are using it. The hot tub cannot fit more than 4 people comfortably, but otherwise is solid. Overall, would recommend.

I have rented from Mtn. Laurel Chalets many times and I have never been disappointed. This trip was no exception. The cabin was quiet and well furnished. Our stay was relaxing and comfortable. We were close enough to town to do things, but far enough away to be quiet. We will continue to stay with Mtn. Laurel as long as we return to Gatlinburg.

We loved this house! It was perfect for our family Thanksgiving getaway as we had 4 adult couples. The private baths in each bedroom are a big bonus and their was plenty of room for relaxing, shooting pool and enjoying the hot tub and fireplaces. The home was very clean and had most things we needed. The kitchen lacked a few standard items but we were able to work around it. This home has not been updated in quite awhile but it was clean and has a great location and the price is extremely reasonable. The driveway can be a bit tricky to maneuver but we would definitely stay here again!!

This was our 2nd trip to TN. We loved the close location to the strip, but also in the beauty of the mountains. The house is spacious and well equipped with all the kitchen necessities. It is however a tad run down with water damage. Not the loveliest bathrooms, but they get the job done. The place was nice enough for us to choose the dance property twice!

Thank you for the review. The chalet is only 1/2 mile from downtown, so very convenient to all the activities on the strip. We will check for water damage and let the homeowner know your comments on the bathrooms. Please give us a call when you plan to return to the Smokies.

For two adults and five kids...this place was PERFECT. The location was close to town and to the bypass...but felt very cozy and remote. Each bedroom having its own bathroom worked out great. Also the kitchen was well-stocked with the dishes, pots, pans, etc. that we needed. I ALWAYS rent from Mountain Laurel...and I have never regretted it. Their service and their chalets are first rate.

We enjoyed our stay at Dogwood Place. There was plenty of room for four couples. It was nice having four bedrooms, 4 baths and 6 tvs. One of our party uses a walker/scooter and it was nice to have bed/bath/living area on one level. The staff at Mountain Laurel Chalets is super to work with! We did have some concerns about the cottage. There was a strong musty smell especially on the lower level. There was only enough water pressure for one person to shower at a time and the bath tubs were slow to drain. Most important for safety, the deck becomes very slippery after a rain and is slow to dry. Also, please continue to warn the guests of the bear who has become extremely used to humans. We returned to the cottage one afternoon to find him lounging on the deck. He was not intimidated by the presence of humans. Don't leave food in your car and don't leave your car unlocked. He had obviously tried to get in our car door! Overall, we had a great vacation stay and would use Mountain Laurel Chalets in the future.

Thanks for taking the time to write such a helpful review. We will get maintenance to address the issues you had and appreciate you bringing them to our attention. Also, we are glad you have learned the drill for dealing with the bears. There is a definite path from the top of the ridge down through the yard and on down the mountain. They can most definitely open car doors, but don't really bother much unless the door closes behind them, then watch out! Glad to hear your group had a good time and we look forward to your next visit.

Nice location, easy access to town, great staff. Hot tub was clean and ready to go on arrival. Propane tank for BBQ was low but staff replaced it with a new one immediately. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes etc. Cabin is a little older and has some signs of wear which also makes it hard to look spotless even though it was clean. Furnishings were good. Would stay there again.

My friends and I spent the weekend in this cabin and had a very good experience. The property is very close to the Gatlinburg strip. The cabin itself was nice. We enjoyed the pool table and the hot tub. The only negative things to say is that you do not have a view and there was a few minor cosmetic issues on the interior of the property. Overall, I would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Gatlinburg.

We arrived to check in and were informed that the staff had been trying to call(we had used our land line so no answer). We were then advised that the chalet that we had booked had a problem and we would not be available but that they had moved us to Dogwood Place. We were told you wont have the view that the other chalet had. We signed up got the keys and drove a short way up Ski mountain to the chalet. This was the first time I had stayed this close to town we usually get higher up in the mountains. Everything in the chalet worked as it should. It was clean and I felt that we were taken very good care of. The house didnt have the view but we spend a lot of time in the park and get to see the mountains that way. We have used Mountain Laurel many times over the past 12 years. I was very happy in how we were treated and how they fixed a problem that was not their fault at all. Will be booking with them next time I go to the mountains.

We are glad that we were able to resolve the issue and accommodate your stay in the Smoky Mountains. Thank you for staying with us for over twelve years and we look forward to next time.

Great cabin. We had great room for the 7 of us there. Kids enjoyed pool table and hot tub. Great Wifi. Easy access into Gatlinburg and the park. We had some minor maintenance issues, but the maintenance crew arrived in under 24 hours to begin repairs. We will be back

The chalet was so cozy and peaceful,everything was nice and clean. The staircase could use a barrier for little toddlers, we had two with us who were intrigued by them. A couple updates in the bathrooms would be a plus.Overall the cabin was very tranquil and I would stay there again.

Our family had a great time. There was enough space for everyone. We had 6 adults and 1 child. There's a notebook of information in the cabin and one of the things in there is what to do if you see a bear. We made jokes about how we wouldn't see any bears. Well, at dusk on the first night my husband looked out the kitchen window and sure enough, a bear walked by the steps leading to the driveway, walked by our cars, checked the secured trash cans (which were empty) and walked on down the driveway! We were all in shock! It was one of the neatest things watching that bear walk so closely by our cabin. Had we been in the hot tub at that time we would have been bear soup! We definitely watched out for them the rest of the trip. The cabin was really nice but it was more of a house than a cabin. But the pictures made that really clear. We only had one issue - one of the upstaris bathrooms leaked into one of the downstairs bedrooms. It wasn't too messy though. We simply told the rental place about it when we left which was when we noticed it. No other issues. It also says you're not allowed to grill at the house per city ordinance but there's a grill out by the driveway. One last thing, the house is in a very woodsy area but it's RIGHT above a sharp curve in the road. When it rains the curve gets very loud because it makes tires spin going up the hill. Plus you hear all the loud motorcycles go by. This cabin house is great for if you want to go in and out of Gatlinburg and be close to the park entrance and you're not looking for a remote cabin experience. We would totally rent this house again though and highly recommend it! OH and it has several smart TVs with Netflix right on the remote! And Wifi but we didn't use it.
